Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 2026
Introduction
This is the Privacy Policy for OpenColor. OpenColor has no accounts and no sign-up, so there is very little to explain here: we do not ask for, receive, or hold any information that identifies you personally. This document sets out exactly what is recorded, why, and where it is kept.
What We Do Not Collect
We never ask for your name, email address, phone number, payment details, or any other personal detail. Your key colors, token sets, naming rules, and settings are stored in the local storage of your own browser. They stay on your device and are never uploaded to us, so we cannot see them, recover them, or share them.
What We Do Collect
We record anonymous usage only: a random identifier generated by your browser, which pages were visited, which presets were opened, and which export formats were downloaded. The identifier is a random value with no personal meaning, it is not linked to any account, and it cannot be traced back to you. You can clear it at any time by clearing your browser storage for this site.
How We Use It
Anonymous usage records are read in aggregate only, to see which parts of the product are worth improving. We do not build profiles of individual visitors, and we do not sell or rent this data. It may be disclosed only if required by law or legal process, or if the site is acquired by a third party.
Cookies
We set no cookies of our own on the public side of this website. Your settings are kept in browser local storage rather than in cookies, and our only own cookie is on the internal administration page, to keep an administrator signed in. However, the advertising described in the next section is served by Google, which does set its own cookies in your browser. You can disable cookies in your browser settings; the tools on this site will keep working, and you will simply see less relevant advertising.
Advertising
This site is free to use and is supported in part by advertising served through Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google uses advertising cookies to enable it and its partners to serve ads based on those visits. You can opt out of personalised advertising at any time through Google Ads Settings at adssettings.google.com, or block advertising cookies in your browser. If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you will be asked for your consent before any advertising or measurement cookies are set, and you can change or withdraw that choice at any time.
Third-party Services
Anonymous usage records are stored with a third-party database provider, and advertising is served by Google. Both operate under their own privacy policies. If you follow links from this website to other sites, including advertisements, you are advised to read the privacy policies published there.
Data Security
Because we hold no personal information, there is nothing personal to lose in the event of a breach. We still take reasonable precautions to protect the anonymous records we keep. However, no internet transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee the security of information transmitted to or from this site.
Changes to This Policy
We reserve the right to update this Privacy Policy at any time. We will notify users of significant changes by posting a notice on the website. Your continued use of the site after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
